A: Yes! Daufuskie Island is a very pet friendly community but if you’re renting a condo or vacation home, check with the rental company on their pet policy. Pets are allowed at the outdoor areas of the island’s three restaurants.
Q: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET THERE?
A: The quickest way to get to Daufuskie Island is to depart from Hilton Head Island’s Harbour Town Marina. A water taxi trip will take about 15 minutes. If you travel by tour with The Daufuskie Difference, the trip will take about an hour, but it will include a narrated tour given by a local guide as you make your way to here.

A: Yes, there are many options for daytrips to Daufuskie Island. After you schedule your transportation to the island you can plan a relaxing day on the beach, take in some kayaking, follow along on a guided tour of the island, or simply just wander around exploring.
Q: WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW FOR A DAY TRIP?
A: Plan ahead! Make sure you have transportation to and from the Island, as well as transportation once you arrive. The primary form of transportation on the island is a golf cart, which you can rent through a local tour operator prior to arrival. If you are planning on staying for dinner, reservations are required at the Beach Club at Melrose, For something more casual, make a trip to Freeport Marina for burgers, sandwiches and picnic table dining.
